Frazzled!!

SARA BOYLES
Frazzled. Isn't that a great word to express a kind of anxious, dazed, out of control, somewhat emotional state of being? It's what I am. Packing too much into one moment, not enough into the next, forgetting trivial things, exaggerating small things, rather lost as I try to wrap up a nearly 14 year experience into a few bags and boxes. And on top of it the "other " part of my life that moves along at its own pace as well - a friend being ordained in Calgary, a 50th year graduating class reunion in Paris On., being point person for another friend having knee surgery this week, friends calling as they pass through Toronto, preparing for a road trip to the west coast. It's all happening in this short brief spring of ‘07.

So how do I stay aware of it both to enjoy it and to offer as much corrective "as I am able"? I like that phrase, it's rather like "doing your best" even though one's best slips all over the place in the course of a life time. Well... I try to get regular exercise (but have done poorly at that this week); try to get enough sleep (even though my eyes pop open at 5 and sometimes simply won't close again),;take time to sit and think and maybe even write a little; record the many kindnesses I am the recipient of; book time for conversation with various people; and try to remember this is all part of the wisdom plan that is being revealed to me.

Wisdom, available at any age, a gift that allows one to see "differently" and hold one to ones life path. Sophia, as seen in Helen Gough as she struggles with her failing body - always the adventurer, never afraid of her opinions, articulate about her ideas. Mother God embracing and bountiful inviting us onward in our sameness and in our differences - inviting us to the waters of life, blessing community.

Sara

Thanks to Jim Ferry for holding the home base open and being the celebrant at 9 o'clock and 10:30 services today. The rest of us are at the parish week end at The Ecology Retreat Centre, north of Toronto. Welcome to all of you who are visiting. May this place and the community at prayer, nourish and
sustain you this day and this week.
