The Parish Rolodex of my Mind

SARA BOYLES
Scene 1, Take 4. I woke up early and my mind already was on parish people. It was like a was going through a Rolodex, stopping at each card to connect with whose name was there. It is one of the ways I pray. I sit to write however and my words seem unfocussed and my ideas as cluttered as the top of my desk.

Parish life seems more than full these days. The wardens plate is filled with the usual work along with the work presented by the municipal property tax invoice. Worship has met several times and slightly shifted the way in which we organize Sunday mornings at 10:30. This won't appear different but the behind the scenes preparation will be done differently. Property people are trying to get the chapel floor project off the ground any day now. Good weather always brings a flurry of maintenance that it is not feasible to do in the winter months. People Presence is planning for summer, The Refugee Committee is gearing up for their book sale and the Parish Weekend is on us! Get your notices to Becca for inclusion in the bulletin (416 598b4521 x224)

It seems difficult to find a place or people for new things. I say that and then am amazed at the new things that creep in at the edges. The Housing group has organized themselves under the banner of "Trinity Multifaith Housing". They live in hope that actual dollars will be available for
real, affordable housing units soon. I am amazed and grateful for the number of people are actively and regularly visiting the sick and shut in of the parish. Community at work! Welcome to new community members as well. Let us know how we can help you find your way.

For those of you not able to be at Shadow Lake next week end, I hope you will be here on Sunday morning. The usual services will be provided. Our visitors need a welcome, a community to join and good worship. Those of us who are away will be with you in spirit. Please keep the parish and its activities in your daily prayers.

Sara
