The HT Cuban Jazz Pentecost just got EVEN BETTER! We've just learned that
Roberto Occhipinti will be joining Hilario Duran as guest musicians for the
service. Roberto Occhipinti has won three National Jazz Awards and like
Hilario Duran, shared in two Junos, one as part of Jane Bunnett's "Spirits
of Havana" album. He's so talented, this bassist has even served as a member
of the Winnipeg Symphony, The Hamilton Philarmonic and the Canadian Opera
Orchestra.
Colleen Allen is known as much for her charismatic stage presence as she is for her remarkable ease in fostering a
collaborative spirit while playing with others. She has mesmerized audiences throughout Canada and Europe
accompanying such notable performers as Alex Lifeson (Rush), Anne Lindsay, Oliver Schroer, Lorraine Segato, The
Parachute Club, Colm Wilkinson and Anne Murray. She is currently involved as a soloist and singer in Molly Johnson's
band and her improvisational magic can be heard on Johnson's self titled c.d as well as her most recent release, .Messing
Around.. Her musical path has led her to a wide range of cultural events. What makes Colleen so popular with other
players and leaders is her "deep listening," She plays with a beautiful simplicity and lends a keen ear to collaboration with
her fellow musicians. Colleen currently lives in Toronto where, along with a busy touring, recording and teaching schedule,
she raises a child.

Tyson, to name only a few. Recognized primarily as a bass player, George
plays a variety of instruments; many featured on his award-winning solo CD,
Music for Plants, Animals, and Humans. His playing of Indian stringed
Instruments: Sitar, Sarode, Tanpura, and the violin-like Esraj and Dilbruba
are featured in the motion pictures Such a long Journey and Possible Worlds
and on Loreena McKennitt, Jane Siberry and Bruce Cockburn recordings. He
continues to produce concerts and recordings in the jazz, world and Indian
Classical music styles, and is composing new east-west fusion music.
